Frequently Asked Questions

How is GRAX priced?

GRAX is priced per org – this is significantly more cost effective than alternative solutions that price by user, particularly for medium and larger-sized organizations.

What is the Return on Investment (ROI) of GRAX?

GRAX has immediate impact on regulatory compliance and business growth. The same audit trail of every single change in your data that meets regulatory and business continuity needs, is used to reduce data storage costs, identify multi-org cross-selling opportunities, accelerate time-to-value on business mergers and consolidations and enrich company-wide analytics and data lake strategies.

How does GRAX let me maintain 100% ownership and control of my data?

GRAX runs in your organization’s cloud or on-prem environment, with the GRAX application and data lake running in your cloud or on-prem compute and storage environment (Heroku, AWS, Google, Azure, ECS, etc.). A managed package installs into your application instance (i.e. Salesforce). With GRAX, your data never leaves an environment that you do not own or control.

Does GRAX use a proprietary data format?

No. We never hold your data hostage. It is stored in its original format in your own storage facility (cloud or on-prem), allowing you to pull it out of GRAX at any point in time.

How do I access my data stored in the GRAX data lake?

GRAX exposes all data stored in your GRAX data lake directly in the application interface (i.e. Salesforce), giving you the ability to view all backup and archive data alongside “live” application data.

Is GRAX a Backup Tool, a Data Management Platform or a Data Mesh?

All of the above. Some customers use GRAX to backup and audit all changes in SaaS application data, while others use it to enrich 360 degree views of customer records across all systems and to identify new revenue opportunities. GRAX is unique because it does all three.

Does GRAX require development or coding?

GRAX is clicks, not code. Once installed, everything can be done through the user interface, often right inside of the application you are already using today. Only functions which cannot be accomplished in a particular system, as accessed through the GRAX interface. We do not try to arbitrarily force you to login to our tools unless absolutely necessary, because we know you do not want to learn yet another system.

What’s the difference between schedule-based and event-based backups?

Event-based backups are trigger based: they capture every single change to data as it happens, in near real-time. Schedule-based backups are done via scheduled jobs that run at set time increments. Both are useful but the former (event-based) can only be done with GRAX and is the only way to truly meet the most stringent of regulatory needs.

What makes GRAX Enrich different from other data cleansing or management tools?

GRAX gives your something that no other enrichment or cleansing tool can’t: an ‘undo’ button on all complex data merges, appends or deletions. Combined with the ability to unify an unlimited number of data sources, GRAX Enrich is the most powerful companion to other data management or cleansing solutions on the market today. GRAX partners with leading organizations to augment large-scale cleansing efforts with human intervention, giving you a scalable, safe way to support the most powerful 360 degree customer views in the industry.

Can I connect ERP, e-commerce or other external data sources to GRAX?

Yes. GRAX can ingest all data sources and expose them at any endpoint system.

What analytical tools does GRAX support?

GRAX natively supports standard Salesforce reporting, Einstein analytics and Tableau. Additionally, all data stored with GRAX is reportable in your existing tools. Both structured and unstructured data are supported.

How does GRAX handle Data Migration?

GRAX allows you to migrate data with complete images of all data, hierarchies and metadata, essentially ‘restoring’ from another org (or a synthesis of multiple orgs).

How does GRAX support Marketing Cloud or Commerce Cloud data?

GRAX allows you to auto-archive marketing cloud and commerce cloud data (after it has been brought into Salesforce). This allows you to enrich 360 degree customer views in Salesforce with marketing and commerce data, without incurring prohibitive storage costs (since all data stored with GRAX is resident in your cloud storage environment, but is 100% available in the Salesforce interface).

Does GRAX support Snowflake and other data warehouses?

Yes. GRAX data can be exposed in the data warehouse tool of your choice, including Snowflake and those same tools can serve as data sources that are brought into the GRAX data lake.
