The challenge: before GRAX
Meret needed to store, protect, and track sensitive Salesforce data in ways that meet six critical compliance standards. However, doing this within Salesforce wasn’t possible. Salesforce’s backup solution, which restricts backups to incremental snapshots, didn’t allow for the granular data and control Meret required. They couldn’t track edits and files or revert changes. They had to replicate their data into a sandbox in order to search it.
Salesforce backup was also costly and unreliable. API consumption limits caused Meret’s various integrations to throttle and slow business processes.
The company tried using other popular third-party backup vendors, however these providers didn’t enable the control they wanted. Like Salesforce, the vendor stored data in the vendor’s own cloud infrastructure which limited Meret’s access and data governance. Their per-user costs were also prohibitive.
As a result, it was also difficult to manage compliance with critical data protection and privacy standards, including:
